According to ICT’s Public Relation Center, in this meeting, also attended by the Ambassador of the I.R. of Iran’s to China, both parties emphasized on development of bilateral relations in various fields and sectors, requesting more comprehensive and closer cooperation in the fields of Internet, cyberspace, and Information technology.
While pointing out the threats caused by the forceful influencing of certain countries in cyberspace and the role of one particular nation in imposing laws and regulations on this field, the two sides expressed their wish for essential cooperation and coordination in this regard to reduce these influences and increase the presence of other nations in decision-making processes.
Other major discussion topics in this meeting included the subject of internet growth and development and its role in progress of e-Government, and the necessity for an exchange of viewpoints and experiences between two countries in this sector.
Both sides also stressed on bilateral cooperation regarding expansion and completion of the National Information Network, considered an absolute necessity in both countries; also cooperating in regard to facilitating and accelerating their citizens’ access to a safe, trusted, and comprehensive network.
Iranian and Chinese parties expressed their commitment to quickly establish a specialized workgroup for implementing the joint agreements and making them operational.
In this meeting, Dr. Vaezi invited the head of the Cyberspace Administration of China to visit Tehran in near future, for supervising the recent agreements and providing the administrative context for their implementation.
