In his meeting with the Slovenian Economic Development and Technology Minister, Mr. Zdravko Počivalšek, held at Tehran Communication Museum, Dr. Vaezi stated that: “Development of the relations between the private sectors of both countries requires trust between governments.”

ICT Ministry’s Public Relation Center reports that Dr. Vaezi expressed today in his meeting with Mr. Zdravko Počivalšek, the Minister for Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia, that: “Fortunately you are visiting Iran at a time when in just a few days, the economic sanctions against Iran shall be removed.”

He also referred to the existing prospects for cooperation in infrastructure, telecommunication, post services, satellite technology, and other ICT sectors, including that: “This meeting is a good start for bilateral cooperation, and we expect productive results from it.”

Expressing his pleasure at the opening of Slovenia’s embassy in Tehran, Vaezi added: “Inauguration of the trade center with the presence of four Slovenian firms is a very positive step in developing bilateral relationship of the two countries.”

The ICT Minister stated that: “Slovenia, which was once part of the Yugoslavia, was strong and well-known in electronics sector, and we also officially recognized this new country after that.”

Vaezi further elaborated by saying: “At the moment, active presence of about 2600 firms in the ICT sector of Slovenia and its $2 Billion trade exchange is a clear indication of these facts.”

Stating that Slovenians have come to believe in working in the ICT sector, Vaezi went on to say: “Without doubt, Slovenia can count on Iran’s huge market in the ICT sector.”

Vaezi expressed that: “Various communication projects are implemented in Iran in the fields of data transfer, optic-fiber connections, and data-center establishment, and there are also some highly capable companies active in regard to ICT and the software and hardware sector in Iran.”

He emphasized on developing cooperation in political and economic areas between Iran and Slovenia, saying that: “Developing and expanding private sector relations between two countries require trust between two governments, and this can be realized through the supporting determination of both governments.”

He stressed on the opening of the Slovenian embassy in Iran as a positive step in facilitating the interactions between the private sectors of both nations, stating that: “Iran is particularly focused on three subjects.”

Describing the three topics, Vaezi said that: “If our bilateral cooperation projects exceed a certain size, then we require the involvement of the banks of both parties in these projects.”

He underscored the possession of advanced and well-known technologies between both countries as highly crucial, adding that: “We must be able to exchange experiences and technical know-how between our countries.”

Vaezi highlighted paying attention to Market as the third important criteria, and concluded: “It is our expectation that if we offer a market to a country, we also should have an equal opportunity for having a market for Iran in that country.”
