Iran, Romania Interested in Expanding Relations

The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, in meeting with the Romanian Ambassador to Tehran, commended his efforts, emphasizing on the both parties interest in expanding bilateral relations.

 According to ICT’s Public Relation Center, Dr. Vaezi stated that Iran and Romania enjoy a long history of cooperation and bilateral relations, adding that: “Our good and constructive past experience and mutual understanding can also continue in the new conditions, and we can witness the development of relations in economic, commercial, energy, and cultural sectors.”

The Communication Minister referred to Romania’s Membership in the European Union, stating that: “The government of the I.R. of Iran has a positive outlook toward Romania and in the post sanctions era, is interested to expand the existing relations with countries such as Romania.”

Dr. Vaezi also referred to positive outlook of the government toward strengthening and supporting the private sector, emphasizing on further motivation of the private sectors of both nations in various areas.”

Furthermore, he once again commended the efforts of Cristian Teodorescu, the Romanian Ambassador, requesting the transfer of this experience and knowledge to his successor.

He announced his preparedness in regard to bilateral relations development, stating that: “There are many areas for possible cooperation between the two countries, and they can expand in all dimensions.”

Teodorescu, the Ambassador of Romania to Tehran, also expressed his satisfaction for the existing relations between Iran and Romania, and similarly for the deep and comprehensive understanding of Diplomatic Relations shown by the Iranian Communication Minister, saying: “Romania hopes for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries on a constant and day to day basis.”

Teodorescu emphasized the importance of the relations with Iran, expressing that: “The required political preparedness and firm decision for cooperating with Iran is already in place.”

He referred to Romania’s membership in the European Union, asserting that: “In the post-sanctions era, there are new and positive opportunities at hand for cooperation and Romania is prepared to utilize its capacities in the European Union to further develop relations with Iran.”

Teodorescu mentioned the progresses of the Romanian private sector in the field of ICT, expressing that: “The government is trying to benefit from these capacities, and we are prepared to enhance the relations between the private sectors of both nations.”

Leaving at the conclusion of his term of mission to Tehran, he included that: “My successor is also interested in expanding relations, and both Iran and Romania enjoy a positive and friendly outlook toward each other; the people and government of Romania are interested in development of relations between the two nations.”
