According to ICT’s Public Relation Center, Dr. Vaezi expressed pleasure at the existing good relations of the two countries, expressing that: “Holding Iran-Indonesia’s Joint Economic Commission after a seven year interval, is a clear indicator of both parties’ firm decision for expanding relations, and considering previous agreements, can be further extended to cooperation in IT and ICT sectors.”
The Iranian co-Chairman of the Joint Economic Commission referred to the existing interactions between the two countries in ICT sector during the International ITU Forum, saying: “We have good understanding in regard to international cooperation, including ITU, and we are hoping for further development of these cooperation.”
He referred to the cultural and religious closeness between the two countries, stating that: “The Iranian people and government have great respect for the people and government of Indonesia, and this fact also impacts the strengthening of relations.”
Octavino Alimudin, the new Indonesian Ambassador in Tehran, also confirmed the words of the ICT Minister regarding bilateral cooperation, expressing that: “We are interested in having a broad and comprehensive cooperation in the areas of energy, oil, gas, power, and also cultural and scientific collaborations.”
He also elaborated on telecommunications and ICT areas, saying that: “Iran and Indonesia can support one another in this area, backing each other in international conventions.”
