PR of the Ministry of ICT – Mahmoud Khosravi CEO of TIC said: "Data bandwidth capacity has been reached to 137 STM1 in the country now".
"The national data bandwidth must be reached up to 22 GBPS till the end of the current year but it will be obtained earlier than expected by the effort", he added.
Mahmoud Khosravi said that TIC can provide all needs and requests in this area now and emphasized that an extensive effort has been done in this field to increase network capacity as well as create more capabilities and reliabilities during the past four years.
He pointed:" on the other hand, the capacity of infrastructure networks will be increased up to 10 times by implementing the upcoming projects in order to provide e-services to the people more than before".
CEO of TIC pointed to the special conditions of the country that is considered as the highway between East and West and said: initial studies are being done to provide the necessary conditions and opportunities needed to perform the data bandwidth transit from Iran.
"Accordingly, the available network capacity will be increased and the required space will be created to transit the bandwidth between the East and West of the world ", he continued.
He emphasized: "We believe that the possibility for exporting the empty spaces in the network will be provided by performing the projects and also considering many applications exist in this area now".
