Engineer Ali Asghar Ansaari, the deputy of Network Management Development of Information Technology Organization, in an interview with PR news’ unit (ICT) declared that the 4th version of Internet Protocol called IPV4, recently was filled to capacity in the whole world and making new addresses is possible only by transition to the 6th version, called IPV6 (Internet Protocol version 6).
He added that: expanding of the services and increase in the number of users, expanding of Information’s national network in the 5th government and deficiencies in internet resources, security and quality increase of the services in this section, are the proofs of this transition’s importance.
Ansaari, with pointing to the levels of appraisal and fulfillment of this transition said that study of transitions’ methods, challenges’ diagnoses and performing scientific tests are the difining levels to make this transition operational.
ITO’s Deputy of Network Management Development described that previous year in order to do this transition, the team including of more than 7 members of related organizations and operators and 5 universities was constituted.
He added: studying, appraisal and presenting transition’s mechanism correspondent to global standards, probing transition in other countries, coordination and cooperation with other organizations, are the other performed actions in this section. Ansaari declared that during this time, scientific and operational tests are performing simultaneously.
He emphasized that international cooperation are performed in order to put this transition into action.
He added: in some universities that expressed their readiness to perform transition to the new generation of numeric addresses, have started activities as a pilot projects.
