Public Relation of ICT Ministry – Eng. Mahmoud Khosravi in the ceremony held for 7th Establishment Anniversary of Infrastructure Communications Company said that: according to the 5th Development Plan, there are heavy duties that ICT ministry is charge for developing communication infrastructures.
Infrastructure Communications Company as the leader in Iran infrastructure network has compiled a program for reaching the 5th Development Plan goals based on needs evaluation and this program approved by the company’s public assembly, He added.
He referred to the program entrance to the executive phase and asserted that: the 1st and 2nd years of the 5th Plan for accomplishing the goals in infrastructure arena are considered as the most effortful.
The chairman of Infrastructure Communications Company told about the indexes defined for this matter and said: now the capacity of IP network is about 50 GB and will increase to 2 TB at the end of the Fifth plan. Also International Communications capacity will grow to 500 GB/s from the current capacity of 32GB/s.
Khosravi mentioned that Traffic Transmission Capacity through our country is about 30 STM1 and stated: with the attempts made we are witnessing increase up to 40,000 STM1 at the end of the plan.
He continued: Iran has the best position in the region for being the region’s hub and be the route for traffic transmission and we must make use of this golden opportunity.
The chairman of Infrastructure Communications Company asserted about IP/MPLS project that: the first phase of this project which provides possibility of traffic transmission from south to north has been exploited and the next phase will be inaugurated in the Government Week.
He said that the capacity of Iran Internet has increased 30% since onset of the current year and emphasized: the capacity is 220 STM1 at this time and will increase 30% more than now, up to the end of this summer.
Based on recent experiments, Iran necessary bandwidth is supplied from different locations results in more network trust security and also reduction of Internet disconnection problems.
The chairman of Infrastructure Communications Company with saying that Iran has fiber-optic connection with all neighbor countries asserted that: according to the developments made in this matter and based on signed agreements, the fiber optic connection with Pakistan will go to operation up to the next 3 months.
He asserted: with implementing the foregone programs in the 5th Development Plan, the background for giving electronic services more than before will provide and we are hoping that the relevant organizations use this infrastructure efficiently.
